TechPoint Foundation names interim President and CEO

TechPoint Foundation for Youth names Steve Ehrlich interim President and CEO effective April 20

Indianapolis (April 13, 2020) – TechPoint Foundation for Youth announces the appointing of Steve Ehrlich, a founding director of the organization, as the new Interim President and CEO. Ehrlich is replacing longtime Executive Director Laura Dodds, who will be moving on to lead the Purdue Extension-Marion County office starting on April 27th.

In addition to being one of the founding board members of TechPoint Foundation for Youth from 2000-2001, and also serving as Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Directors in 2003, Ehrlich has helped shape and scale local technology companies such as Software Artistry, Aprimo, Autobase, PolicyStat and most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer at Indianapolis-based Bolstra. His extensive experience in executive leadership and operations management, coupled with his long time commitment to public service, will help guide the Foundation through this transition.

“I am both excited and honored to have this opportunity to step in and take the reins of the Foundation during the Board’s search for a new leader,” said Ehrlich, “Laura’s tenure leading the organization has been nothing short of amazing, and her departure leaves a big void for the Board to fill.” TechPoint Foundation for Youth, a statewide organization, has seen tremendous growth under the leadership of Ms. Dodds, growing from a fledgling organization to a national leader in high impact STEM programming serving more than 35,000 Hoosier students annually.

“After more than 12 years serving at the pleasure of an absolutely amazing Board of Directors and the best nonprofit team of professionals around,” said Laura Dodds, “I could not be more thrilled to know I am leaving the Foundation in an excellent financial and programmatic position, with a leader I greatly respect.”  The Board of TechPoint Foundation for Youth will begin the search for the new President and CEO in April 2020.  “The Search Committee formed by the Board of Directors to identify the next leader of the Foundation recognizes it has big shoes to fill,” said Tom Adkins, Retired Site Head of Roche Diagnostics, “we are thrilled to have Steve, an accomplished leader and passionate TechPoint Foundation advocate to help us through this transition.”
