Robot Help Hotline
An opportunity to get your coding or building questions answered!
About
In partnership with Purdue University's VEX U Robotics Team - SigBots - we are excited to offer an expanded resource for Indiana VEX robotics teams. The Robot Help Hotline is now available to provide support not only for programming but also for building your robot during the season. This new resource helps ensure that your team gets the assistance they need, whether it's troubleshooting code or tackling mechanical challenges.
Whether you’re new to robotics or a seasoned team, SigBot students are ready to provide guidance in both coding and building your robot.
What to Expect
From October to March, Purdue’s VEX U SigBots will host 30-minute Zoom sessions to answer questions and provide guidance on both robot building and coding. This opportunity is open to all Indiana VEX robotics teams, across all grade levels (Elementary, Middle, and High School), including both VEX IQ and VEX VRC teams. The only requirements are:
You’re on an Indiana VEX IQ or VRC robotics team
You have Zoom capabilities
You have specific questions related to building or coding your robot
An adult is present during the call
For building support, teams should come prepared with ideas or plans for what they want to build, and SigBots will guide them through the process. Please note that SigBots are here to assist with improving your designs and solving challenges, not to provide complete robot designs or strategies.
Next Steps
If you think your team would benefit from this expanded support, click the link below to schedule a time that works for your team. The link will take you to an availability calendar where you can select a time to receive help with either your robot's programming or building. Once scheduled, the automated system will send a calendar invite with a Zoom link.
When meeting, please ensure your students are prepared with questions, and that an adult is present during the Robot Help Hotline call. It’s also helpful if teams have screen sharing capabilities so the SigBots can assist with troubleshooting code or reviewing robot designs.
